PSY 108 - Fundamentals of APA Style

1 Credit

Students will learn the basics of APA style, the standard writing style for most social sciences. Proper techniques for citing sources, preparing a manuscript, and expressing material clearly and accurately will be covered. Students will practice writing short papers and components of papers in this style.

Prerequisite(s): Completed English 101 with a C or better, or completed English 200 with a C or better.

Course Learning Outcomes
1. Use APA style and format to produce a written document.
2. Explain the elements of APA bias-free language guidelines.
3. Distinguish plagiarism from quoting and paraphrasing using APA format.
4. Demonstrate correct citations and references in APA format.
